Zenon Konopka vs. Luke Gazdic 2 minutes, 32 seconds into the game

Zenon Konopka and Dallas' Luke Gazdic fought 2:32 into Wednesday's game, not a big deal in and of itself, but pertinent given the previous blog entry.

It was a fairly even go as both got in a couple of shots. If it matters who ends up on top, Konopka earned the fall when Gazdic took a big swing and missed and Konopka used Gazdic's momentum to get him to the ice. Gazdic is no pushover, either. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder had 127 penalty minutes last season in 63 games with OHLErie. He had 14 penalty minutes in two games with ECHL Idaho.

Have to say, one of the noteable things I have seen with Konopka is how he is able to disengage from a fight. Granted, I haven't seen him fight a lot, but in the few bouts I've seen of his with the Lightning, he lets up when his opponent goes down.
