Cory Conacher recalled from Syracuse
With leading scorer Nikita Kucherov dealing with an undisclosed injury, the Lightning recalled forward Cory Conacher from AHL Syracuse to provide some insurance.
Tampa Bay, which has dropped seven of its last eight, plays in Calgary tonight to open a three-game road trip in Western Canada.
Kucherov left Tuesday's practice in Tampa about 10 minutes in, checking his skate blades on the bench before heading to the dressing room with trainers. Coach Jon Cooper didn't provide an update on Kucherov's status.
Conacher has played in one game for the Lightning this season, Oct. 29 in New Jersey. He has four goals and 15 points in seven games with the Crunch, having dealt with an injury of his own.
To make room on the roster for Conacher, defenseman Luke Witkowski was reassigned to Syracuse.
The Lightning had already recalled defenseman Slater Koekkoek and Erik Condra Monday.
