J.T. Brown reportedly smashes Predators fan's phone
The ending to the Lightning's 3-1 loss to the Predators Monday night was especially rough for wing J.T. Brown.
Late in the third period, Brown was knocked to the ice by Nashvillle's Ryan Ellis, who received a five-minute major for interference on a hit Brian Boyle dubbed "extremely, extremely dirty."
"That shouldn't happen," Boyle said. "(Brown) didn't even have the puck."
Brown was furious, and started punching Ellis on the ice, starting a line brawl. He received a 10-minute misconduct penalty. Brown was still fuming as he was escorted off the the ice by an official. And according to a video acquired by TMZ, Brown reportedly smashed a phone of a heckling Predators fan on his way to the dressing room.
"We spoke with Johansen who says he’s not mad and isn’t taking any legal action — but says he hopes the Lightning will spring to get him a new phone … because his screen got shattered in the mayhem."
The Lightning, and Brown have not yet commented. Brown was not made available after Monday's game.
