Lightning beats Predators 7-4 at prospects tournament



The Lightning rode a five-goal second period to a 7-4 victory over the Predators at a prospects tournament at the Iceplex in Coral Springs.

Seven players scored for Tampa Bay (1-0-0 with a tie): Nikita Nesterov, Tanner Richard, Nikita Kucherov, Vlad Namestnikov, Drew Olson, Danick Gauthier and J.T. Brown, who had an empty-netter.

Goaltender Eric Brassard started the game but left late in the second period with an upper-body injury after making 19 saves on 21 shots. There was no immediate update on his condition. Kristers Gudlevskis had seven saves on nine shots in relief.

Both teams had 30 shots on goal. Nashville was 2-for-5 on the power play. Tampa Bay, which plays the host Panthers on Sunday in the tournament finale, was 1-for-1.
