Lightning prospect fined $1,000 for part in bench-clearing brawl
Lightning prospect Cedric Paquette, a forward for Blainville-Boisbriand of the Quebec junior league, was fined $1,000 by the league for "inappropriate behavior" for his part Wednesday in starting a bench-clearing brawl with Baie-Comeau, the Canadian Press reported.
Paquette, taken 101st overall in last year's draft, reportedly taunted Baie-Comeau players after Blainville-Boisbriand's 4-3 victory in Game 4 of the teams' best-of-seven semifinal series that is tied 2-2.
In addition to Pacquette's punishment, 12 players were suspended, both coaches were banned for two games and each team was fined $5,000. Game 5 is Friday night.
