Paquette could return on trip, Drouin not sure
It appears like center Cedric Paquette could return by the end of this four-game road trip.
Wing Jonathan Drouin isn't so sure.
Paquette has been sidelined since his left ankle injury - originally suffered blocking a shot during a preseason game Sept. 25 - got worse following a 1-0 overtime loss to Chicago Oct. 24. But Paquette skated Sunday for the first time, saying he felt "way better." Paquette said he could play tonight against the Hurricanes, but "it's better for me to take a little bit mroe time to rest" and return "before the end of the road trip."
Drouin has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, which he calls a "tweak" that happened not too long ago. He said he doesn't want the injury to come back in a couple weeks, which is why they're making sure it's 100-percent before he plays.
Drouin, who had been on the top line with Steven Stamkos before the injury, didn't appear certain whether he'd be back this week.
"It's hard to tell, I don't know," Drouin said. "We'll see. It's day to day."
