Connie Chung Leaves Awful Memories

Hard to believe this woman -- who single-handedly proves here why MSNBC never should have given her and hubby Maury Povich a show to begin with -- once co-anchored a major network newscast...

Not looking like that, I'd imagine...and given the harassment lawsuits facing Maury, maybe doing the work necessary to get pregnant is not the highest thing on her agenda right now...

    Eric,

My wife wants to tell me something and she wants to do it on the Maury Show. Do you think I should go?

Wow, that was pretty much unwatchable and unlistenable.

As embarrassed as Connie should be for performing it, anyone who contributed, linked, mentioned it should be equally embarrassed.

Now I'm going to shower, scrub REALLY REALLY hard, and do my best to put up a mental block on what I just saw.

One might think 'drugs or alcohol' after viewing this but the stress of what she must be enduring on
the lawsuit front has surely affected her judgement. She was a shining star for sure at a certain point. What was this for???

Reminds me of the Britney Spears interview with Matt Lauer. There is something painful about watching this kind of thing unfurl before one's own eyes.

    Curiously interesting but truly sad.

after having interviewed her a handful of times, i think Connie's problem is that -- especially as she gets older -- she has no perspective on how she comes across to people. She wants to be seen as fun-loving and up for a laugh, even if it comes at her own expense, which is an amazing quality for a former Tv anchor -- among the most self-important specieson the planet.

But I think her lack of perspective on her public image led her to some awful moves while anchor at CBS -- including some really insensitive coverage during the aftermath of the oklahoma city bombings and that awful tabloid-y show she hosted on CNN for an instant.

Still, I've always had a good time talking to her, and have always felt she wasted her talents -- both by marrying Povich and in some of the projects she has helmed in the twilight of her career.

You nailed it, Eric. She's just clueless.

I hadn't thought about it 'til I read your comment.

Well..her day came...and went...and I think Katie's will too, sooner rather than later
