98 Rock names new host for mornings: Lex and Terry Morning Show
In the midst of a lot of other media news today drops this nugget -- WXTB-97.9 FM (98Rock) announced today that it is replacing The Buckethead Show on Monday with Lex and Terry, a syndicated show from Dallas which also airs in Jacksonville and Orlando, among other cities.
Rumors abound that this is the station's last effort to boost ratings for 98Rock, which has had some trouble in mornings. Clear Channel lured Lex and Terry from Cox Radio, so they certainly have an interest in trying to spread the show. Lex and Terry aired for a while on a competing station, 102.5 the bone, about three years ago.
It is also yet another exmaple of a local radio show being replaced with syndication, just as WBPT replaced Olivia Fox with Steve Harvey and WTMP replaced local jocks with Michael Baisden.
Here's the 98Rock release....
