Weeknd funnies one day early: TV news reporter crashes a Vespa
I've always hated the way TV stations push their reporters to make themselves the center of stories they report. If newspaper writers are a little too self-deprecating at times -- refusing to acknowledge their influence and presence in stories when it is sometimes needed -- TV folks go the other way, inserting themselves into stories when a more objective approach would work just fine.
As you watch this clip, for example, ask yourself how much better this might have been had the reporter simply filmed someone else who actually knew how to ride a motorscooter. Certainly, her pride would be in much better shape.
