America's Next Top Model auditions Aug. 30 in Tampa
So maybe you're not enthralled by the local tryouts to join the legion of spokesmodels handing out washing machines and new cars on the Price is Right -- a bevy of beauties I'm calling Drew's Dames.
But perhaps the idea of serving as an overpaid, underfed clothes hanger is more appealing. If so, local tryouts for the CW's reality TV show America's Next Top Model may be more your speed -- coming to Tampa on Aug. 30 to the Westin Tampa Harbor Island, 725 South Harbour Island Blvd, Tampa, from 10AM to 3PM, seeking potential contestants for the series' 12th (?!!)
cycle.
The only requirements for this open casting call: You must be female, between the ages of 18 and 27 and at least 5-feet, 7-inches tall. They say they're looking for a wide diversity of women, and the casting director for the show -- not Tyra! -- is expected to be there.
(Although, since the show is featuring its first transgender contestant this season, maybe you only need to be female when the show actually starts filming)
And since we know that just about every reality show on the dial winds up featuring at least once contestant from Florida, I would think you have a good shot.
Of course, just as these shows so often feature Floridians as contestants, they almost never wind up winners. But at least you'll get a fun trip to NYC out of it.
