Another one bites the dust: CBS' Gary Unmarried replaces Worst Week on Monday
Back in September, I felt a little weird recommending CBS' old school sitcom Gary Unmarried over Worst Week, a remake of British comedy filmed with one camera and lots of post modern irony.
But CBS has announced next Monday it will replace Worst Week, which has been sinking in the ratings, with a rebroadcast of the first episode of Gary Unmarried, which has been doing fairly well on Wednesdays, where the competition on NBC and ABC has floundered a bit.
Gary Unmarried stars Jay Mohr as divorced house painter trying to deal with his ex-wife and two kids while starting a new relationship with a woman who has kids of her own. It's a surprisingly energetic comedy, with an old school sitcom vibe which may fit better with CBS' Monday taped-live multicamera comedies such as Two and Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.
