McCain on Letterman; 'Amazing Race' Tampa update

Mccainandletterman_2 Late-night host David Letterman may have thought John McCain was a bit squirrelly, but apparently he has worked out something with the GOP candidate, scheduling McCain's return to his show almost a month after the senator canceled an appearance under questionable circumstances.

The question here is: How will Dave react? Certainly, the feud has been good for Letterman, with his constant jibes about McCain getting him back into the headlines for something other than speculation about his possible retirement.

McCain will appear on the show one day after the final presidential debate, giving Letterman lots of ammunition if he chooses to deploy it.

If McCain plays contrite, which he's likely to do, I don't expect Letterman to be as pugnacious as he has been in recent weeks, complaining because the senator claimed he was rushing back to Washington D.C. in his Sept. 24 cancellation, only to hang around New York long enough to do an interview with Katie Couric that same evening and speak at a conference the next day.

Meanwhile, Tampa businesswoman Tina Hunter Greene was shown Sunday night scoring another huge victory with her estranged husband Ken on CBS's The Amazing Race, winning a deluxe vacation package (courtesy of Travelocity.com) by being the first couple to reach the episode's final checkpoint.

To get to that checkpoint, racers had to learn a choreographed wrestling routine popular in Bolivia, with female wrestlers known as Cholitas. Ken, a former pro football player, learned the routine quickly (and  looked only moderately silly in the red tights provided), allowing the couple to power through to first place and a serious prize. (Fan blogs are still sniping about Tina Greene's tough attitude, though.)

Geeky gamers Mark and Bill, penalized for misreading a clue, wound up ejected from the show. Here's a clip showing Ken and Tina's triumph.
