See me chat live with cartoonist Ted Rall about the New York Post cartoon at 1:15 p.m.
The good folks at the Poynter Institute have quickly pulled together a live chat between me and cartoonist Ted Rall, president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, on the infamous New York Post cartoon which some say compares President Obama to a chimp gunned down by police.
So far, I've written a blog post, discussed this on Twitter, Facebook and National Public Radio, and I've found an even split : Half the people I speak to think it's obviously racially insensitive, and the other half don't. And neither side can understand why the other side doesn't see things their way. Read Rall's take on the issue here.
View the chat in real time right here. It starts at 1:15 p.m.
