LATimes presents Kathy Griffin's (and my) take on Eminem at MTV Awards: "I think it was a stunt, but I hope it wasn't"
Tom O'Neil, an awards show expert whom I often quote in my Emmy preview pieces, wrangled a quickie, Oprah-style, Skype-like interview with Kathy Griffin on the most buzzed-about TV moment of the weekend: Sacha Baron Cohen sticking his butt in rapper Eminem's face.
In a video featured on YouTube and the LA Times' awards show blog The Envelope, Griffin dishes on her opinion about what went down at the MTV Movie Awards lSunday night -- where Cohen was lowered from the ceiling onto Eminem's face, as the gay fashion designer character Bruno, in a gag that was either planned, or not.
The Betty Confidential Web site also says the stunt was staged by Eminem's people (Hmmm. brings all new meaning to some of his harsher, anti-gay raps, I'd say...)
