Coming to Hulu in December: ‘Titanic,’ FX’s ‘Legion,’ ‘Rocky’ movies and more

Don't tell Netflix or Amazon I said this, but Hulu has the best lineup of new offerings for December.

First, there are the underrated Disney animated movies The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and The Black Cauldron. Then the streaming service gets the first five Rocky movies, The Silence of the Lambs and Titanic.

Topping it all off is one of the favorite new series this year — FX's Legion.

My top picks:

A Christmas Wedding Tail (2011): All you need to know about this hidden gem of a Christmas movie is the description from the Hallmark Channel: A Christmas Wedding Tail is the story of a pair of passionate pooches, Labrador Rusty and Poodle Cheri, who fall head-over-tails in love. The two smitten pups conspire to get their respective owners, Susan and Jake to wed. Despite Susan's and Jake's compatibility, their new blended family turns out to be more than Rusty and Cheri had bargained for. Now, the calculating canines must channel their pooch powers to keep their family from ending up in the dog house. Dec. 1

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949): The 11th animated film from Walt Disney Productions is a mashup of stories inspired by children's novel The Wind in the Willows and the short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Dec. 1

The Black Cauldron (1985): The dark Disney animated film is set in a mythical land during the Middle Ages and sees an evil horned king seeking a magical cauldron to help him rule the world. Dec. 1

Rocky I-V: The epic series chronicling how a small-time boxer became one of the most famous fighters in history. Dec. 1

The Silence of the Lambs (1991): This film debuted on Valentine's Day 26 years ago and, honestly, it's the perfect date night watch. Dec. 1

Titanic (1997): Our hearts will forever go on for this historical romance and Celine Dion's amazing soundtrack. Dec. 1

Legion Season 1: The beautifully trippy series features characters from Marvel comics, including Legion (Dan Stevens), who is the son of  the X-Men's Professor Xavier. Dec. 8

Interview: Noah Hawley and Dan Stevens talk Legion's trippy visuals and comic book origins

Review: Legion is a hypnotic journey into the mind of a lesser-known Marvel mutant

And the rest…

Review: ‘Lost in Space’ Netflix reboot trades camp for thrills and family drama

If the original Lost in Space is like the cheesy, campy older cousin, then the reboot is the prestigious, lofty exploratory story in the vein of Star Trek. The 10-episode Netflix reimagining charts a wildly different course than the Irwin Allen seri...
