This week’s pop culture winners and losers

Winners:

'Lady Bird'
The coming-of-age film earned a record-breaking 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an incredible feat for first-time director Greta Gerwig. "We put our heart and souls into this movie, and the last step of this deeply collaborative art form of filmmaking is giving the film to the audience and the film critics," Gerwig said after learning the film had surpassed previous record-holder Toy Story 2. "That there has been such a warm reception is a dream come true," Gerwig said. Gerwig was also named best director by the National Board of Review on Tuesday and the Saoirse Ronan won the Gotham Award for best actress.

T-Pain
It's hard to believe that T-Pain's Buy U A Drank came out 10 years ago. It's harder to believe that we've all been singing the wrong lyrics this whole time. The chorus, which everyone thought was "I'ma buy you a drank / ooh wee I'ma take you home with me," is actually, "I'ma buy you a drank / Then I'ma take you home." Excuse me, what? The rapper tweeted out the correction after a decade, but graciously said "really it's whatever you want it to be." But while he was at it, T-Pain also let fans know they have been screwing up All I Do Is Win, saying "I don't wanna throw another wrench in your childhood but also it's 'Everybody hands go UP……… and they stay there……. AND THEY SAY YEAH' sorry."

Liu Yifei
Walt Disney's live-action Mulan finally has a star. Chinese actor Liu Yifei, 30, will star as the legendary female warrior. Yifei, who has acted alongside Jackie Chan, was also signed to Sony in Japan and has been a brand ambassador for Dior. Now for the bad news:The movie won't be out till 2019.

Ed Sheeran and Beyonce
For Sheeran fans upset over the singer only receiving two Grammy nominations, this collaboration could not have come soon enough. Sheeran dropped a version of Perfect off his latest album, ÷,  featuring Beyonce. The video of the duet has already been seen 170 million on Youtube.

Losers

Matt Lauer
The Today show anchor says he feels "sorrow and regret" after being accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. But one of the most shocking details from Variety's report published Wednesday after his firing was that Lauer had a button under this desk to secretly lock his door.  "It allowed him to welcome female employees and initiate inappropriate contact while knowing nobody could walk in on him." Lauer said some of what has been said about him is untrue, "but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed," he wrote in a statement.

Angela Lansbury
The 92-year-old actor is clarifying her remarks on sexual assault. In an interview with Radio Times, the Murder She Wrote actor said women have gone out of their way to make themselves more attractive, and it's now backfired. After heavy backlash online, Lansbury released a statement, saying "There is no excuse whatsoever for men to harass women in an abusive sexual manner. I am devastated that anyone should deem me capable of thinking otherwise."

In other news:
Engaged:
We have another royal wedding, people. Actor Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be saying "I do" at Windsor Castle with a precise date still to be announced.
Engaged: Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco got the question popped to her on her 32nd birthday. Karl Cook posted a video of the engagement on Instagram.
Divorced: Rick and Morty star Spencer Grammer and James Hesketh are splitting up after 6 years of marriage. Hesketh filed Wednesday citing irreconcilable differences.
Arrested: Daveigh Chase, best known for The Ring and voicing Lilo in Lilo & Stitch, was arrested after reportedly riding in a stolen car. Chase, who wasn't driving, was booked for the felony crime.
Arrested: Glee star Naya Rivera was arrested in West Virginia Saturday on charges of domestic battery after allegedly hitting her husband, Ryan Dorsey. The couple filed for divorce last year, but called off the separation this month. "This is a difficult time for everyone in the family, especially for Naya and I," Dorsey said in a statement.
