Tampa Bay Comic Con announced its initial slate of celebrity guests for 2018 over the past few days, and they're likely to conjure a mix of nostalgia and excitement for what's to come in their respective, geeky franchises.
They include English actor Matthew Lewis, best known for portraying Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter franchise, and Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, the boy who disappears into the “upside down” on Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Also announced this week: Cary Elwes, whose long list of film and TV credits includes The Princess Bride, Glory, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, the X-Files and Psyche, and Brianna Hildebrand, best known for playing Negasonic Teenage Warhead in 2016’s Deadpool and its upcoming sequel.
Those are in addition to a full lineup of voice actors coming to the con (including Rodger Bumpass, who voiced Squidward Tentacles on Spongebob Squarepants), and dozens of comic book artists.
The convention, which also features hundreds of vendors, panels, cosplay contests and other events is returning to the Tampa Convention Center Aug. 3 to 5. Ticket packages this year run $30 to $60 at tampabaycomiccon.com.
