Yes, in case you didn't know, Grammy-winning folk-country singer John Prine is a Tampa Bay resident.
Prine, 71, was recently featured in the New York Times' Carry On column, which said he and wife Fiona spend time in Nashville and Galway, Ireland, but spend "much of the year" in "St. Petersburg, Fla." According to our archives, Prine's house is actually in Gulfport, but we'll let it slide.
Among the fun tidbits he revealed are the fact that he's subscribed to Archie comics for like 40 years and carries his own ketchup and mustard "that's just for hot dogs."
What he told the New York Times about living in Florida:
“Fiona is a beach person. I just bought a 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and I’ve got that down at the house in Florida, so I usually take that to the carwash and go get a hot dog and wait for Fiona to come back from the beach, and then we go out to a nice restaurant at night.”
Ah, hot dogs and carwashes. He's really living the life.
