And the winner of NBC's 'The Voice' is...
Well, we have a winner for The Voice's fifth (and maybe its best) season: Jamaican powerhouse Tessanne Chin. Chin (Team Adam) took home the top prize on Tuesday night with the majority of America's votes, followed in second place by 16-year-old Jacquie Lee (Team Christina) and Will Champlin (also Team Adam) in third. The results were a bit surprising in that The Voice usually favors younger singers like Lee. But Chin was hands-down the most consistently great contestant throughout the competition (she went toe-to-toe on a duet with freakin' Celine Dion on Tuesday's show), and we're especially glad she won after her spectacular performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing on Monday night.
Perhaps most notably, this marks the first time since the show's first season that three-time winner Blake Shelton hasn't won as a coach. Heck, he didn't even have anyone in the finale! Coach Adam Levine gets his second win, and another prize to add to his stellar year. Wonder where this ranks among that Sexiest Man Alive title and his impending marriage to a model?
What do you think about the win? Were you pulling for Jacquie, Tessanne or Will?
