Brad Pitt reportedly accused of child abuse
As rumors continue to swirl around Angelina Jolie's divorce from Brad Pitt, Pitt is now reportedly being investigated after being accused of verbal and physical child abuse.
While the Los Angeles Police Department has told numerous organizations it is not investigating the allegations against Pitt, TMZ reports the actor is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services for an incident that took place on the couple's private jet.
Spokesman Armand Montiel told USA TODAY the agency cannot confirm or deny investigations.
TMZ has also reported that the case is out of jurisdiction for the LAPD and has been handed over to the FBI because the alleged incident happened in the air while they were travelling from France to the U.S. on Sept. 14.
The couple's separation is listed as the following day, and Jolie is seeking physical custody of their six children.
"This decision was made for the health of the family," Jolie's reps said.
With talk of Pitt also having an affair with Allied co-star Marion Cotillard, Cotillard has now entered the ring to defend herself and shoot down rumors.
"This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into," she wrote on Instagram. Cotillard said in her post that her and actor Guillaume Canet are expecting another child, and that he is "the only one that I need."
