'Breaking Bad’s Gunn, Gilligan headed to sitcoms
Still mourning the end of Breaking Bad? Well, now you can see a few familiar faces from the show on TV again soon. Anna Gunn, who played Skyler, is headed to, of all things, Fox's The Mindy Project to play Manhattan OB/GYN Dr. Sheila Hamilton, described in a very Mindy-esque way as “the Tory Burch of Manhattan OB/GYNs.” Gunn will be on this season's thirteenth episode (the seventh ep airs tonight) trying to steal Mindy for her own practice. Careful Mindy, you don't want to cross Mrs. Heisenberg.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is also popping up on a sitcom, making his acting debut on an episode of NBC's Community (its fifth season premieres Jan. 2). According to EW, he'll play a "smooth-talking gold digger" who causes a fight between Annie and Abed. That shouldn't be too much of a stretch, since all signs point to the fact that he's a smooth-talking Southern gentleman in real life.
This of course got us thinking about who else from Breaking Bad we'd like to see guest star on another show. How about Aaron Paul (Jesse) as a guest judge on The Voice? Laura Fraser (Lydia) as a power-hungry lawyer who's recruited by Alicia's firm on The Good Wife? Jesse Plemons (Todd) as a super creepy warlock on American Horror Story? Bryan Cranston as a pathetic boss on How I Met Your Mother? Oh, wait, that one's actually happening.
