Capt. 'Sully' Sullenberger to speak at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg
Coming in for a landing in St. Petersburg in 2017: Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger.
The retired pilot who engineered the famed "Miracle on the Hudson" landing of U.S. Airways Flight 1549 -- and who this year was the subject of Sully, a biopic starring Tom Hanks -- will speak at the Mahaffey Theater on Jan. 15, the venue announced Wednesday.
Sullenberger will deliver a presentation that includes a Q&A session, so if you've ever wanted to know anything about aviation, overnight fame or what Tom Hanks is really like, here's your chance.
This isn't Sullenberger's first trip to Tampa Bay. In addition to however many airplanes he's landed in this area, he and the crew from Flight 1549 were honored on the field at Super Bowl XLIII at Raymond James Stadium, just three weeks after their landing on the Hudson river.
Tickets to see him at the Mahaffey Theater start at $67.50. Pair a couple with a Sully DVD, which comes out on Dec. 20, and your dad's Christmas present is set. Click here for more.
