Bright House Network's Vino Vino nominated for Cable FAX award as best video on demand program
Cable FAX magazine has named Bright House Network's show on wines Vino Vino as a finalist in its 5th annual awards ceremony as Best Video on Demand Program.
The field of competition is high -- pop star Mariah Carey's Christmas special for Ovation is one of the other nominees -- with winners announced in New York City October 30.
Vino Vino is hosted by wine aficionado Elliott Wiser, founder of Bay News 9 and Bright House Networks corporate vice president of local programming. The show features trips to important winerys, tips on finding the best wines and odd stories from the world of wine. See the show's web page here.
The trade magazine will give out awards in more than 40 categories ranging from best actors in cable -- Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones and Homeland's Mandy Patinkin are among nominees there -- to best opening sequence (my money's on Starz's Spartacus on that one).
