Chaz Bono gets female partner and Nancy Grace gets a rookie on Dancing with the Stars
ABC announced the professional dancers who will be paired with their new cast on Dancing with the Stars, wringing a little bit more attention from an underwhelming unveil on Monday.
As expected, transgender celebrity offspring Chaz Bono -- born a girl, he is now fully male after a widely-publicized sex change -- was paired with a female dancer, Lacey Schwimmer. The show's biggest star, cable news anchor Nancy Grace, landed a newbie -- rookie dancer Tristan McManus.
Notoriously temperamental pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy got Olympic soccer star Hope Solo; with any luck, her long years of athletic training will help her deal with a coach long on acid comments and short on patience. (His brother Val gets teamed with Italian model and George Clooney ex Elisabetta Canalis.)
And yes, there is one dancer named Peta Murgatroyd (I always thought the old line from Snagglepuss --"Heavens to Murgatroyd" -- was just made up. But, apparently, Murgatroyds actually exist.)
