CNN manipulates lights on Empire State Building to reflect election vote totals
Forget about the magic wall and holograms. CNN's latest attempt at grabbing election day attention involves one of the biggest landmarks in New York City.
The news network will manipulate the lights around the Empire State Building during election returns tonight, turning up the blue if Democrat Barack Obama does better, revving up the red if GOP candidate Mitt Romney moves ahead. When a winner is predicted, the lights will go all red or blue, depending on who takes the presidency.
Which means they better get it right. because any mistake will be immortalized on postcards until the next presidential election and beyond.
