Daily Show's Larry Wilmore says America's race card is maxed out in a black presidency
I always love how comedy writer Larry Wilmore punctures the absurdity of Americans' fight over race as the Daily Show's "senior black correspondent." (the joke there when he started: he was the ONLY black correspondent. Before they hired Wyatt Cenac)
In this clip below, he riffs on how some black folks caught in wrongdoing try to bring up race persecution as a defense (I would, however, not agree that the Henry Louis Gates belongs in that category. But it sets up his joke about Obama refusing to defend Charlie Rangel so well, I know why Wilmore went there).
Doesn't meant there aren't plenty of race-related issues worth taking a look at in media and politics. But it does show how absurd some of these issues can get sometimes. Check it below:
