Early online release of Fox's The Mindy Project, Ben and Kate shows network TV's gamble on social media

the-mindy-project-pilot-ben-and-kate-pilot-slice.jpgWith the Republican National Convention in Tampa's rearview mirror, I'm now free to turn toward more pressing concerns -- the start of the network TV's new fall season.

I've been doing this long enough to remember when TV networks were stingy with online video clips and we had to beg them for the rights to post snippets of new shows online with our fall TV reviews.

Now, the networks have posted pilot episodes for the new shows they value most weeks before the program's debut, hopeful to start a conversation going in social media that will impact broadcast ratings.

Below, you can check out pilot episode of Fox's The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate well before newspapers like the Tampa Bay Times publish their fall TV guides.

Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts in the comments sections; you just might inspire a line or two in my fall TV preview.
