Fired CNN anchor Rick Sanchez to call football games for Florida International University

If you're former CNN anchor Rick Sanchez, you head to Florida International University near Miami, where you call the college's football games as a favor to the school.

According to Sanchez's website, he agreed to call the games for no pay, since two of his sons now attend the school. "When Pete Garcia, FIU’s athletic director, asked me if I’d consider calling the games, I immediately said yes," Sanchez wrote on his blog today.  "I already attend most of the games, and so it was an easy decision." He also referenced the gig on his Twitter page.

Sanchez was fired by CNN last October after giving a bitter radio interview where he seemed to imply that Jews run the cable newschannel and Daily Show host Jon Stewart picked on him out of prejudice.

Though he later disavowed any anti-Semitic intent in his remarks, Sanchez spent some time at the vortex of a media frenzy as reporters tried to dissect his meaning; he has not yet secured a new full time TV gig.

His troubles came just as he was gaining fame as CNN's social media anchor, with a robust Twitter presence and shows which referenced his online comments.
