First look: Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained mashes up blaxploitation and western genre with Jamie Foxx
It's like the world's geekist film nerd reached into my brain and pulled out nearly every influence I've ever wanted to see in a movie.
Blaxploitation movies. Gritty, modern-looking westerns. A serious revenge fantasy. And Jamie Foxx in a decent film.
Looks like Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained just might have it all, along with side orders of the coolest character actor on film right now (Christoph Waltz from the deliriously ahistoric Inglorious Basterds) and the coolest actor in film, Leonardo DiCaprio.
But don't take my word for it.
