HBO's teaser trailer for film of the book Game Change looks impressive

julianne-moore-300.jpgHBO has released a teaser trailer for its film Game Change, a dramatization of the book by MSNBC analyst and TIME magazine writer Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. And it looks impressive.

The book tells the story of the 2008 election cycle through the circumstances of five couples - the Obamas, the Clintons, the Edwards, the McCains and the Palins.

Though some dismissed its focus on personalities and grounding in material provided by hundreds of anonymous sources as gossipy, I found the book was a telling peek at the psychology of a campaign. Read an excerpt here.

HBO's teaser clips focuses on McCain and Palin, with Ed Harris as John McCain and Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin. Woody Harrelson is Steve Schmidt, the bald-headed, bluntly passionate campaign advisor to McCain.

As I wrote back in April when pictures of Moore as Palin first surfaced, I wonder if scriptwriter Danny Strong, who gave Laura Dern a supremely dysfunctional Katherine Harris to play in HBO's film Recount, will do the same for Moore on Game Change.

Take a look at the clip below and see what you think:
