Jimmy Fallon hosts live performance of Lazy Sunday

Lazysunday1 It seems almost quaint to think about it now. But there was a time when TV networks were so freaked out about people circulating their best moments on YouTube, they actually tried to stop it from happening.

That's what I remember about Lazy Sunday, an amazing video short starring Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg from Saturday Night Live, which turned a geeky movie trip by a couple of supernerds into a blue-eyed rap workout worthy of the Beastie Boys.

After 5-million people watched it online, NBC tried to get it taken down from YouTube, only to put it back up after realizing it actually helped make SNL look hip again.

Fortunately, NBC has wised up since then. So when Parnell and Samberg reunited last night to perform the cut for the first time live with Jimmy Fallon's kicking backup band, The Roots, the video was available instantly.

So start your morning with a stiff dose of Narnian attitude. And thank the gods of Hulu that the network got the message about viral video.
