Jon Stewart suggests fired CNN anchor Rick Sanchez resembles The Office's bumbling boss
Viewers may have been expecting an epic smackdown when Daily Show host Jon Stewart faced cameras for the first time Monday since Rick Sanchez was fired by CNN after calling him a bigot.
But if so, they don't know Stewart very well.
Already aware that the media world had kicked Sanchez around plenty for his remarks echoing old prejudices that Jews control the media, Stewart simply suggested that Sanchez resembled bumbling boss Michael Scott from NBC's The Office.
it was a slick move -- allowing the comic to poke fun at a guy who had already taken some serious drubbing, in a fun, fresh and inclusive way. I'm not so sure I agree on how harmless Sanchez's attitudes were, but it made sense for Stewart to take the high road and let the fact that he still has a career speak volumes.
Here's the clip in case you missed it; for added poetry, Stewart used video from Sanchez's own behind-the-scenes videos to make his point.
