Mark Dvornik named president and general manager of WFLA-Ch. 8
Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA-Ch. 8 has named Mark Dvornik, an executive with loads of experience in syndicated TV, as vice president and general manager of the station.
Dvornik, a former top executive at Paramount Pictures Television, will not only lead the TV station as its top business executive, but will be responsible for advertising sales across WFLA owner Media General's Florida outlets, including the Tampa Tribune and website TBO.com. He will also serve as president of the company's Riverbank Studios, which syndicates WFLA-s mid-morning show Daytime across the country.
WFLA had been without a general manager since Mike Pumo abruptly left the station in January with little explanation.
Dvornik comes to WFLA from an executive vice president's position at Retro Television Network, a service which provided classic TV series such as Leave It to Beaver and Knight Rider for the station's secondary digital TV channel, 8 Prime.
