New Port Richey teen's eyebrow antics gets him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday

Jonathon-timpanelli When 16-year-old aspiring performer Jonathon Timpanelli fantasized about landing on the Tonight Show someday, he never imagined his eyebrows might be the key.

But it turns out the River Ridge High School sophomore's talent for making his 'brows twitch like they're doing "the worm" dance, was comedy gold for producers booking Jay Leno's reinstated 11:35 p.m. late night show. Timpanelli is expected to fly out to Los Angeles Wednesday for the show, now scheduled to air Thursday (an NBC spokeswoman cautions that plans can change).

He'll participate in a contest called "Meal or no Meal," where Leno's celebrity guests will evaluate the quirky talents of selected audience members (You probably thought they picked the contestants at random from the audience that comes to the show, or something).

The winner gets a free meal for four at a selected restaurant, but Timpanelli feels like he's already won by snaring the spotlight -- however brief -- on late night's highest-rated talk show.

"That's going to be the hardest part -- being myself in front of a bunch of people," said Timpanelli, an aspiring actor and performer who has appeared in several local and school productions. "Hopefully, I can get a big break from this. Doing the worm with my eyebrows gets noticed because it's different."

The teen sent tapes of his oddball facial talent to producers at the Tonight Show, Ellen DeGeneres' daytime show and other productions. A YouTube video featuring his performance has already drawn over 1,700 views, and Timpanelli is hoping his twitchy brows might get him on a few more shows before it's all said and done.

Even his father, John Timpanelli, a longtime area performer and singer in his own right, was proud enough to call local media on his son's behalf.

Check out his routine below:
