New Port Richey "worm eyebrow boy" earns cheers on the Tonight Show
Hard to say, but New Port Richey teen performer Jonathon Timpanelli has turned our fascination into a serious 15 minutes in the spotlight, culminating with a crowd-pleasing appearance Thursday on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Timpanelli,16, was flown to Burbank after producers saw a video he sent of his eyebrows doing the "worm dance" to the Sugar Hill Gang's dance classic Apache (Jump On It). On Thursday, the River Ridge High School sophomore busted out his unique talent for a contest/comedy bit called "Meal or No Meal."
"He should be on the Olympics doing that," cracked Tonight Show bandleader Kevin Eubanks, one of three "judges" who decided whether various audience members' oddball talents deserved a free meal at a local restaurant.
Timpanelli drew the loudest cheers among a field of contestants which included a guy who could plaster his ear to his head and a 17-year-old girl who could drink grape juice from a hollow spot near her collarbone. (shades of David Letterman's Stupid Human Tricks!)
And even though his actual appearance lasted less than 15 minutes, Timpanelli has extended his brief burst of fame by appearing everywhere from Bay News 9 to WFLA-Ch. 8 showing off his facial skills.
I'm betting there's a reality show in this young man's future. Or at least a spot on the new Star Search.
