New sitcom The Exes shows even baby boomer magnet TV Land has a youthful eye

the_exes.jpgFor the last few years, TV Land has carved out a niche as the hip-ish home for baby boomer's TV nostalgia, centering original series on George Segal, Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli and Fran Drescher.

But its new show tonight, The Exes, shows even the cable home for baby boomers can be distracted by youth, featuring ex-Scrubs star Donald Faison (age 37), David Alan Basche (age 43) and Kristen Johnston (age 44). Only co-star Wayne knight, at age 56, breaks the 50-something age barrier usually signalling a TV Land star.

But fear not. Even though the cast is young, the concept isn't.

Instead, the laugh track is loud, every female character is sexy, and the premise makes no sense at all. Welcome to TV Land's newest regurgitation of an old school, multicamera sitcom sure to make you feel like the 1990s never went away.

Johnson (3rd Rock From the Sun) rents an apartment to divorced, dysfunctional guys Faison and Knight (Seinfeld). When she asks them to take on newly divorced Basche (The Starter Wife), hijinks centered on commitment issues ensue.

Bet you could write half the jokes yourself right now. I'm gonna Ti-NO.
