Norm MacDonald explains how Jay Leno outfoxed Conan O'Brien -- on O'Brien's own show
I'm currently writing a piece for Sunday's Floridian on all the turbulence to come in late-night TV as Conan O'Brien takes over Jay Leno's Tonight Show and Jimmy Fallon moves into O'Brien's old slot.
So I found it particularly funny when I stumbled on this recent clip of comic Norm MacDonald explaining exactly how Leno's deal to get a 10 p.m. show in prime time this fall outfoxed O'Brien and NBC, adding those two to a list of people he's outmaneuvered, which includes David Letterman, Johnny Carson and ABC.
O'Brien leaves his Late Show a week from Friday, returning June 1 as the new Tonight Show host. Until then, expect NBC to be consumed with launching Jimmy Fallon's show in O'Brien's old timeslot starting March 2 and Leno's farewell May 29.
