Orlando, morning man at Tampa's WiLD 94.1 FM, heads to Haiti today

26

January

Orlando040108 Orlando, host of the morning show at WLLD-FM (94.1), started his trip to Haiti with a scramble, calling into the show this morning to describe a convoluted effort to reach the country which required a last-minute drive to Orlando, flight to New York City and a flight to Santa Domingo, where he expects to catch another plane to Haiti

"If you're really trying to do something, it's going to test you," he told his co-hosts on the Tampa station this morning, calling from a distant airport, as they joked about the travel snafus being a sign that he should stay in Florida.

The station announced late Monday that Orlando was heading to Haiti today to report from the country for WLLD and other CBS Radio stations, while helping his friend, pop star and well-known Haiti relief activist Wyclef Jean

Here's the release from CBS Radio
