President Barack Obama to Matt Lauer: "I deserve a second term."

obamalauer-medium.grid-6x2.jpgToday's show host Matt Lauer wasn't able to get much out of President Barack Obama in the traditional sit-down with the chief executive which comes before the Big Game.

President Obama, eschewing a tie, also passed on making any prediction for Super Bowl winners -- perhaps because he knows he'll need every vote he can get in the coming election.

Instead, he batted away questions about his assertion at the beginning of his presidency that if he hadn't overcoem the country's economy problems, his administration would be a one-term proposition.

And the talk of possible action against Iraq felt a bit like hanging with the geeks at a Super Bowl party; Lauer promised they would record more of their coversation for tomorrow's Today show.
