Q105's Mason Dixon to welcome former cohorts, including Scott Shannon and Arch Deal, in July 22 tribute to Q-Zoo

q105.gifFor those who remember when local radio was filled with signature personalities, WRBQ-FM (Q105) morning man Mason Dixon has planned a reunion July 22 featuring an assortment of folks who have appeared on the show over the years.

According to a press release from Q105, the guest list includes former station personality Scott Shannon, who went on the national success after developing the Q-Zoo morning radio format at WRBQ with Cleveland Wheeler in the early 1980s. Others expected to show are WFLA-Ch. 8 anchor Gayle Sierens, former WFLA anchor Arch Deal, Ronnie "Night Train" Lane, Roger P. Schulman and more.

The Q-Zoo format featured skits, song parodies and an irreverent, biting style which drew more adults listerners than any station in the country in its heyday. Expect to hear lots of stories about all that history, which became the building blocks for many of the bits used in modern day commercial radio.
