Shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem off radio this morning after two handguns were taken in car burglary Wednesday night
Instead, the radio personality was off the air this morning after staying up late Wednesday night to help police after two handguns and an honorary sheriff's badge were stolen from his car Wednesday night.
Police have caught and charged two men and a juvenile with the burglary, which occurred at the Sunrise Lanes bowling alley on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. in St. Petersburg. The stolen items were recovered.
According to records from the Pinellas County Sheriff'soffice, Clem also lost one of the same guns briefly in 2004, when he left a fanny pack with the weapon and his concealed weapons permit in an area Taco Bell restaurant. The weapon was returned to Clem without incident.

Burglary Suspects Arrested and Several Stolen Firearms Recovered
On Wednesday June 17, 2009 at about 8:00pm, St. Petersburg Police Officers
investigated a vehicle burglary at 901 Northshore Drive NE. A witness in that
case obtained the tag number and description of the suspects' vehicle, which
was a white Chevrolet Tahoe.
A short time later, the same suspects committed four vehicle burglaries in the
parking lot of Sunrise Lanes Bowling Alley, 6393 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
One of those vehicles belonged to Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. The suspects
stole several personal items from Clem's Chevrolet Suburban, including two
Undercover surveillance detectives from the Department's CASE unit (Crime
Analysis and Surveillance Enforcement) located the suspects' vehicle in the
area and followed it to 38th Avenue North and 49th Street North where they
arrested three of the four suspects who were inside of the vehicle; one of
whom was restrained with the use of a Taser.
The fourth suspect fled the area on foot and eluded capture, but he has now
been identified and detectives have issued probable cause has been issued for
Investigators recovered six handguns from the vehicle, two of which were
stolen from Bubba the Love Sponge Clem's vehicle.
Also, one of the recovered firearms was identified as a Department issued
Glock .40 caliber handgun that was stolen on June 13, 2009 from the personal
SUV of Major Donnie Williams, St. Petersburg Police Department, while he was
Detectives are still investigating how the suspects came into possession of
the remaining three firearms that were found inside the suspect's vehicle and
whether or not the Chevrolet Tahoe had been reported stolen.
The three suspects have been charged with an assortment of burglary and
resisting arrest charges. Please check the jail record for the exact number
