But judge Jennifer Lopez intervened, adding Rosado to the finalist roster using her "wild card" option after he performed an emotional version of Carrie Underwood's "I Know You Won't," choking up at the end and promising the judges "If you do this for me, I promise you, you won't regret it."

"I'm about to cry," Lopez said, water brimming in her eyes after his performance. "I believe in this kid."

Magrane, who was picked as a finalist early in Thursday's show, got emotional before her results were announced, crying while father (and former pro baseball player-turned-announcer) Joe Magrane joked about wrestling judge Steven Tyler for making a risque joke about his 16-year-old daughter.

"Right now, I'm so happy and so excited to be here....I can't help myself but cry," she said, seconds before host Ryan Seacrest announced she would join the Top 10. "I don't want to stop now. I don't want it to end."

The other Top 13 included : Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine, Elise Testone, Colton Dixon, Jermaine Jones, Erika Van Pelt (Randy Jackson’s wild card pick) and Deandre Brackensick (Tyler's wild card).
