Tampa shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem sues porn star over alleged Tiger Woods sex tape

devon-james.jpgBack in March, when porn actress Devon James alleged an affair with superstar golfer Tiger Woods on Tampa shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem's show, her story spread like a brush fire.

Outlets from Radar Online to CBS News did stories. So Clem signed James to a deal he says gave him exclusive rights to release all information relating to the alleged affair and a cut of any profits, in exchange for $3,500.

Now Clem has filed suit against James (also known as Melinda Jannette or Melinda Brinling), alleging she violated the deal by either selling or attempting to sell a videotape she claims shows her having sex with Woods. Filed Tuesday in Hillsborough County Circuit Court, the lawsuit seeks injunctive relief and damages above $15,000.

James husband and manager -- who told the St. Petersburg Times his name is Nick James but has been quoted in other news stories under the name Nick Jannette -- said the videotape is his and has already been sold to another party he would not divulge. A website has appeared saying advance sales of the tape will start Oct. 15.

devon-james-flag-300.jpgIn a profanity-laced interview, the actress' husband said Clem has been angry with his wife since she refused to participate in pornographic stunts he suggested for his show.

Since James came forward with her allegations, the couple has been at the center of several controversies.

The actress claimed her 9-year-old son was Woods' love child, but her mother told Radar Online the allegation was a hoax to make money.

Similarly, Gina Rodriguez, a former manager of the actress, said the sex tape was a hoax; James' husband said they have sued Rodriguez for money she owes them.

“It all boils down to money," he said. "Bubba’s mad about money. Her mother’s mad about money. Gina Rodriguez, we’re suing for money. Everybody wants to get paid."

Brent Hatley, Clem's producer, said they paid for James story on the chance that it might lead to a media opportunity worth much more. But after trying to verify her allegations, they concluded she was not telling the truth, he said.
