Tampa's Brad Abbey wins $1,000 on Who Wants to be a Millionaire

It may not have been the happy ending he was hoping for, but Tampa's Brad Abbey earned a spot in the game show history books Sunday night, as the first contestant to face Regis Philbin on Sunday night's revival of the game show Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.

The 25-year-old laid off commercial bank employee told Philbin he landed a spot on Millionaire two days after getting fired from his job. Thanks to some friends, he now works in a carnival: "I move about a thousand teddy bears in a day," Abbey told the host.

Unfortunately, just after winning $1,000, Abbey guessed wrong when asked this confusing question: "Otto Von Bismarck is often credited with the cynical quip that 'laws are like' what, 'it's better not to see them being made'?

He answered "paintings," but the correct answer was "sausage," ending his historic run not long after it had started.
