Tampa's Mary Delgado, winner on ABC's The Bachelor, arrested on drunk driving charge

mary-delgado.jpgFormer Bachelor winner Mary Delgado was arrested at 12:45 a.m. this morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, according to police records -- her third arrest.

Booked under the name Maribel Delgado, the 42-year-old was arrested at Kennedy Blvd. and Westshore Plaza and later released on $500 bond, according to the police report. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader listed as her employment working as an agent for the real estate company Century 21, the report said. She also refused a breathalyzer test, the report said.

First made famous during a 2003 stint as a contestant on ABC's unscripted dating show the Bachelor, Cuba native Delgado earned national headlines in 2004 when she returned to the show and earned a marriage proposal from professional bass fisherman Byron Velvick.

But the couple earned new headlines in 2007 when Delgado was arrested for domestic battery in Pinellas County after allegedly punching Velvick. Back then, the couple told Inside Edition the fight happened after watching an episode of The Bachelor at a friend's home and disagreeing on whether to leave.

A year later, Delgado was arrested in Del Rio, Texas, for public drunkenness, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. According to reports published in 2008 by TMZ and the Associated Press, Delgado refused to leave a bar and then got belligerent when police moved in to arrest her, though she has disputed the police account.

Velvick reportedly told Us Weekly magazine last year that the two had split up.
