Today show and New York Times profile Scientology defector

Christie-collbran The Today show this morning presented a live interview with a woman who left the Sea Organization, the group which keeps the Church of Scientology running.

Piggybacking off a feature on the woman, Christie King Collbran, which was published in the New York Times on Sunday, the interview featured questions from host Matt Lauer about the circumstances of her departure from the church and the things she saw which convinced her to leave.

Like some Scientologists featured in the St. Petersburg Times' stories on the Church, Collbrand said she believed in the teachings of the MiscavigeSPT religion but felt the church was not served well by its current leadership.
