VH1 and Celebrity Rehab Speak Out About Jessica Sierra
When I saw the startling before and after pictures featured on our Web site of former American Idol contestant and Tampa native Jessica Sierra -- obviously still deep in the throes of her addictions -- a single thought popped in my mind.
Where the hell is Dr. Drew?
VH1 eventually revealed the singer's participation in Dr. Drew Pinsky's series, Celebrity Rehab, when she received probation for her first drunken arrest last year. Most of us Pinsky fans figured the tender-talking doctor would help our former Idol through her issues and put her on the path to sobriety.
But that she's fallen so hard -- we're still trying to nail down whether Pinsky said she was the participant most likely to succeed -- I was interested in knowing: Where is the former Loveline co-host when Jessica needs him most?
After a couple of us Times reporters made calls to VH1 and Pinsky's personal publicist, the answer came in a statement released minutes ago by the cable channel: "Production wrapped in August on VH1's upcoming series 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.' As viewers will learn from Dr. Drew Pinsky throughout the course of the series, maintaining sobriety is a day-to-day struggle as with most addicts and rehabilitation is an ongoing process. VH1 continues to support Jessica in her recovery and wishes her the best during this difficult time."
Bet this doesn't interfere with the Jan. 10 debut of Celebrity Rehab.
