WTVT-Ch. 13 and WTSP-Ch. 10 score major wins in May sweeps
Thanks to a measurement system implemented a few years ago, local stations have access to detailed information about who is watching each day. But they still pay attention to the ratings sweeps periods in February, November, July and May; here are the figures for May's sweep, which ended last Wednesday, as assembled by Nielsen Media Research and provided by WTSP-Ch. 10.
These ratings are for viewers ages 25 to 54, a key demographic for advertisers. The first number is the rating (percentage of homes with TV) the second number is the share (percentage of homes watching TV at that moment).
Tampa Bay area Fox affiliate WTVT did well, winning many major time periods in this demographic. And WTSP won 11 p.m., buoyed by a strong performance by CBS in prime time:
