David Letterman announced today at a taping of CBS' Late Show that he's retiring in 2015, when his current contract expires. The news about the longtime late-night host initially spread on Twitter, when tonight's Late Show guest Mike Mills of R.E.M. tweeted from the afternoon taping. Letterman, 66, has hosted the Late Show for 21 years since he started the program in 1993. His representative released a statement shortly after the Twitter frenzy confirming the news.
