Disney pushes 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' back to December 2017 (but that's not too bad)
We will learn patience. The hard way, without the Force, it seems.
Disney has pushed back the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII from May 26, 2017, to Dec. 15, 2017, the studio said Wednesday.
Considering the massive success of last month's The Force Awakens (only the highest grossing movie ever in North America, y'know) and the amount of CGI involved, we can't say we're surprised.
Also, all things considered, it's really not that bad: A standalone movie called Rogue One is due out this Dec. 16, and the cast is a surefire knockout: Felicity Jones (!!!!), Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen (!!!!) and Alan Tudyk (!!!!).
